Honey Sweetened Freshly Squeezed Lemonade

Refreshing, Classic, and irresistible

You may be wondering why I'm sharing lemonade in the middle of winter. I suppose it's because I'm missing summer, and this is a way to bring back a drop of it!

I love how refreshing this drink is. It's so yummy, and I'm transported back to the warm weather of June & July while I sip on this Honey Sweetened Freshly Squeezed Lemonade!

I was thinking how I could make lemonade sugar free, and yet maintain the wonderful classic taste that you normally get with using white sugar as a sweetener. I thought a combination of using liquid Stevia and honey would balance each other out and give a really nice taste to the lemonade. I find that Stevia often leaves an after-taste, but it didn't for this!

When you sip on this refreshing drink, you'll taste the slightest hint of honey.

If you wanted, you could probably add some fresh mint leaves to the lemonade and let it sit for 25 or so minutes. I think that'd add a really nice dimension to this drink.

Honey Sweetened Freshly Squeezed Lemonade

Ingredients
  • 6 cups cold water
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice from about 6 medium-sized lemons
  • 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 50 drops Sweet Leaf Vanilla liquid Stevia (Always make sure to use a high quality liquid stevia so that you don't get a stevia after-taste!)
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • ice
  • extra lime & lemon pieces for decoration

Directions

1. Put 6 cups of water into the fridge to cool while you prepare the other ingredients.
2. Squeeze out all the juice of the lemons and limes.
3. Pour into pitcher and get the water from the fridge and add it to the pitcher with the lemons and limes.
4. Now it's time to sweeten it! Start by adding the drops of liquid Stevia.
5. Next add the honey and stir carefully, making sure that all the honey dissolves.
6. Add some ice and lemon & lime pieces for decoration, if you wish.
7. Refrigerate till your lemonade is cold, if necessary.
8. Enjoy!
